It’s in my nature to want to be of service to others. And I have met auto insurance agents who hardly do their job. How can I become a part-time auto insurance agent?

You could also go to the New York State’s Insurance department website where you can sign up for an online application and assess yourself if you are qualified to be an auto insurance agent of New York.

The New York State Insurance Law (that is sections 2103, 2104 and 2108) requires that an individual who seeks an Insurance Producer or Public Adjuster license should complete a prelicensing course which is approved by the Superintendent of Insurance. There are Prelicensing Providers approved by the Department to teach these courses needed to be an insurance agent. To be an auto insurance agent means going through a certain number of classroom trainings (depending on your state requirements), passing all the exams provided and completing all the necessary pre-license requirements.
